Good beginner series
Aug 30th 2013The new HS8 are marketed as being flat and accurate. I felt that the HS8 lacked a little clarity in the mid section and that the bass was very boomy. For me the lower mids seemed muddled and the bass very prominent. They had good sound and you could very well hear a record that was well produced, and a record that was not as professional made. Even still I felt as though my mixes didn't translate as well as I had hoped, for example going into the car. However much of that problem could have been due to lack of acoustic treatment in the room. Overall a good beginner pair of monitors, however when considering the size of the room, the HS7s might be a better fit for average sized rooms.

Excellent Customer Service
Jul 1st 2013This was my first purchase from Front End Audio and first set of studio monitors. Will be using to record/mix guitar and keyboard tracks. Staff was extremely helpful. These monitors sound great. From what I can tell, these have a very flat response. I am eager to see how they perform as the speakers themselves break in. The stands are well built although I hope to upgrade to better stands soon. Will also upgrade the included cables at some point. Great starting point though.

Best sound Vs. Price PERIOD!
Mar 27th 2013I ordered the Yamaha HS80M monitors, Stands and TRS to XLR Cables. Amazing how you can hear the difference between the Professional mixes and "professional Mixes" i.e. Bedroom mixing pros. You don't need the Sub unless you are in a 20x20 or bigger room!! Best deal on the internet! and Front end Audio were: pro, prompt and ships quality products! Make sure to get a signature when shipping as the yamaha's ship in colored boxes depicting what inside the box... Not good, if you live in an apartment!
