The Tube-Tech MP2A Tube Preamp is a new, improved version of the MP1A. Featuring a course switch for 10dB increments, and a ±10dB switch in 2dB steps for fine adjustments, as well as multiple input impedances, it is a perfect match for any microphone or instrument. The MP2A has lower noise floor performance compared to the MP1A, as well as a new Overload clip light indicator, and a phase switch. The three different input impedance options are new as well, allowing selection of 600, 1200 and 2400 for any type of microphone and additional tonal options.
The MP2A is an exceptionally smooth sounding two-channel microphone preamplifier and direct instrument input amplifier encompassed in one chassis. The TUBE-TECH MP 2A is a combined dual Microphone Preamplifier and Direct Instrument amplifier for microphones or instruments.
The microphone inputs and outputs are balanced as well as fully floating. The inputs provide a switchable +48 V phantom power as well as a switchable -20 dB pad. Gain is adjustable in 2 dB increments from +10 dB to +70 dB.
The Direct Instrument Inputs are unbalanced. The amplifiers are all tube based and the heaters are on a strict diet of DC-voltage only to avoid hum. All transformers, with the exception of the mains transformer, are enclosed in MU-metal cans. Input and output transformers come with a static screen between the primary and secondary wirings.
