The Tierra Audio Lava Preamp is designed for those who pursue an organic sound, that is both warm and present.

The Tierra Audio Lava Preamp features advanced handmade analog electronics, that offer a slow transient response, thus generating a more homogenous sensation in the final sound. The Lava Preamp instantly provides more definition and dynamics that will settle into the mix with pinpoint accuracy. Its overwhelming headroom will keep alive all the dynamic range of your instruments, with a well-defined sound and low-end is consolidated All this without relinquishing awesome aesthetics and environmentally friendly industrial design, down to the finest detail.

One of the most striking thing about the Tierra Audio line is the wooden face plate that are pyrographed with all the controls and value markings. Along with this is the wooden product box and natural materials dehumidifying pouch - all of which are a testament to the companies ecofriendly values and practices. The look of Tierra Audio products is both beautiful and classy.

The Lava is a very pleasing and interesting preamp. Generally when you hear that a preamp has Carnhill Transformers, you think of this meaty and hefty sounding 70's style pre. The Lava is a quite refined and balanced preamp that does not have a heavy tilt in the frequency range. Overall it has a full ranged response, but in a warm and smooth/musical presentation. Transients are more rounded and pleasant to listen to, it really takes away any sharpness there, and elevated the body, while maintaining a clarity to the sound. It's a great example of being charactered but understanding that a little goes a long way in this digital world - so it provided a gentle yet noticeable flavor.
