The Soyuz Microphones 023 Bomblet Microphone features a distinct blend of color and clarity and is perfect for capturing everything from drums to amplifiers! With its forgiving top-end, smooth midrange, and thick lows, The Bomblet complements the aggressive tonalities of brighter instruments – and vocals – without sacrificing transients or detail.
The Bomblet is an exceptionally easy microphone to use: it captures a full, balanced sound, regardless of placement and distance. An exceptionally forgiving sonic profile makes it an excellent choice for singers seeking a warm, colorful texture that is, nonetheless, true to the source. On louder and bass-heavy sources like electric guitar amplifiers, kick drums, and bass amplifiers, the Bomblet delivers a tight, full-bodied punch that captures the low-end extension of instruments with the clarity to cut through a dense mix. In addition, the proprietary Soyuz transformer imparts a thickness and character that enhances and complements sources that generally demand accuracy: cello, upright bass, bass clarinet, trombone and so forth.
Heritage of Innovation; Tradition of Excellence
The engineers at Soyuz have spent decades studying, servicing and building classic microphones; Soyuz’ machinists are the best in the world. This unique pool of knowledge, craft, and skill – combined with the ears of numerous musicians, producers and audio engineers – has culminated in the creation of the Bomblet’s custom S23 capsule. A different design than that of the 017 series, the S23 is Soyuz’ reimagining of Lomo’s Russian version of the CK12 capsule: with its thick low-end, pronounced mid-range, and detailed top-end – one that is forgiving and flatters high-frequency sources rather than exaggerating them – we believe that we have improved upon a classic.
Handcrafted
As with all Soyuz microphones, the Bomblet is completely handmade: bodies and capsules are manually machined and transformers are wound in-house in Tula, Russia. The Bomblet’s unique character comes from the triple back plate system which is unlike any other capsule in production.

bomblet is the bomb
Apr 6th 2021Received my new bomblet about a week ago. Since then I’ve been recording vocals and acoustic guitar like a madman. Everything sounds warmer and cleaner than any mic I’ve ever used. I can’t wait to get a second to do some stereo images.

Amazing Mic!
Jun 22nd 2020Just bought a second one to have a pair. This has been the most versatile mic I’ve owned. It sounds amazing on vocals and acoustic guitars but I still have yet to find something it doesn’t work with. I’ve been able to record with many high end mics through out my career and the Bomblet sure leaves a lot of them in the dust!
