The 017 features a cardioid capsule with a gold-sputtered, hand-tuned 34mm diaphragm. As with all Soyuz microphones, the 017 is completely handmade: bodies and capsules are manually machined, transformers are wound in-house, and all wiring is true point-to-point. The 017 has quickly become the go-to vocal microphone of such artists as Coldplay, Radiohead, Shawn Mendes, the Lumineers, and Paramore, among others. A classic in the making
Nov 12th 2021After MANY mic shootouts, the Soyuz won me over. It's silk top and warm body had be sold! I leave this mic on in my control room during sessions for both final take vocal tracking and quick demos (often the demo vocals are the final take) ;-)

May 8th 2020This has to be, without exception, the most premium unboxing experience I've ever had in pro audio. And to make things even better, the mic sounds damn good. Silky and classy with a character all it’s own. Soyuz is a class act! Can't wait to grab some of their other product offerings.
