I can't possibly cover everything about this unit in a review. Especially typing on my tiny phone haha. There are a gazillion peeps out there on the interwebs that have done that already. What I CAN tell you is that the hype is legit. The esthetics, the feel, the finish etc. is crazy good. Although subjjective, i suppose. At the end of the day, it's just a midi controller. But it's addictive and fun to use. I'm diggin' everything about it with only a couple quibbles. 1. When I first fired it up I had it plugged in to a regular usb port, and I got a text pop up saying that (paraphrasing) "all the lights may not light up because there isn't enough power being sent" and that I should "use a power supply or a powered USB C port". As far as I know, there is no power supply for this unit. It's only "bus powered". That confused me. Luckily, I had just built a new PC and the motherboard has a couple USB C ports. 2. I could do without the LCD's. I feel the real-estate could be better served. 3. I understand prices can fluctuate and be lowered down the line. But as one of the first to purchase this, I paid $899 and the price has ALREADY dropped a significant amount down to 699. Softube sent me an email saying that they would be lowering the price already (for newer customers of the product),, BUT they'd be offering any one who paid 899, a discount on the new MKIII FADER when released ?. This seems more like a business strategy than a reward. Not everyone will want or need the new FADER. Including me (I already have a presonus faderport 16) Maybe a choice of FADER MK3 discount OR a free software channel strip? I dunno. I don't ever complain about price drops, as it's inevitable at some point. But this was just so quick. It's probably important to note that the pricing thing has nothing to do with Front End! Audio. It's totally a Softube thing. Anyway, it's a super cool unit, and I think anyone who actually tries it will love it. Especially at the new price. ✌️ -Ben
