The Sennheiser MKE600 Shotgun Microphone is designed for camera systems capable of handling the most demanding filmic challenges. The MHE600 effectively attenuates noise coming from the sides and rear.

The Sennheiser MKE600 Shotgun Microphone is the ideal video camera/camcorder microphone able to handle even demanding filmic challenges. Due to its high directivity, the Sennheiser MKE600 picks up sounds coming from the direction in which the camera is pointing and effectively attenuates noise coming from the sides and rear. The switchable “Low Cut” filter additionally minimizes wind noise. Because some video cameras/camcorders do not provide phantom power, the Sennheiser MKE600 can also be battery powered. A battery on/off switch prevents the battery from discharging prematurely; “Low Batt” is displayed.

  • Maximal rejection of side noise

    Can't beat
    Kye

Admittedly, while I have only used the MKE600 and never done a comparison with the "bigger brother" MKH416, I would be very surprised if even 10% of the pro audio community would be willing to make a significant bet doing a blind folded A/B comparison challenge. If you are looking into the MKH416, IMO you are better off buying the MKE600 and spending the difference in audio processing gear such as an EQ or compressor.

I'm blown away by this mic. I know shotgun mics can get expensive but for the price this sounds great. went to this from a Rode VideoMic Pro-R. Difference is night and day.
