The Roswell Mini K47 Microphones provide you with a matched pair of Roswell's workhorse mics. On their own, the Mini K47's are impressive mics that provides a natural character to capture any sound source. With a match pair, you can get more accomplished - including drum overheads.
The Roswell Mini K47 Microphone is the most affordable K47-based condenser microphone on the market, capturing the tone of a vintage microphone, with modern performance specifications.. The "K47" refers to the capsule design. The capsule in this microphone is modeled after the one in the Neumann's U47. It provides a full, balanced tone without any harshness or hype in the upper frequencies. It will record less sibilance and fewer mouth sounds on your next vocal track. It will add weight and body to high strings. It will reduce the jangle in strummed acoustic tracks. For this microphone, Roswell chose a very clean and transparent circuit design. It lets the sound of the capsule pass through without alteration. Self-noise and distortion performance are on par with microphones costing significantly more. We've applied the best tricks we've learned from modifying and upgrading other companies' products. To ensure that every Mini K47 microphone delivers superior performance out of the box, Roswell tests them extensively prior to shipping: for polarity, noise, frequency response, and sensitivity.
The Roswell Mini K47 Microphone differs extensively in its components, its performance, and its sound. The most significant difference is in the capsule. The Roswell Mini K47 Microphone -- as its name states -- uses a true 34mm K47 type capsule, modeled after the capsule in the most famous microphone of all time. Roswell selected this capsule because it delivers a beautiful midrange detail with a neutral top end. The Mini K47's individually biased JFET circuit provides a much lower input capacitance, and ensures the highest possible gain without distortion. The Mini K47 also uses a polystyrene capacitor, since they are generally considered to be the most neutrally voiced, cleanest sounding capacitors. The main signal capacitors in this circuit are polypropylene film types, imported from Germany. This combination of components delivers a sonic profile that is much more musical and balanced than anything in its price category.

Mini K47s are Versatile
Aug 6th 2019I purchased the matched pair of Mini K47s based on a video about them on Produce Like a Pro (Warren Huart). I'm a hobbyist recorder, so I don't buy really high-end mics. This pair was among the most expensive I've purchased. I used the pair as overheads in the Glyn Johns style on drums with a Beatles cover band. I also used them for the lead and harmony vocals. They did an excellent job on both tasks and needed limited compression and EQ. I was very impressed and I'd like to try them on other sources (e.g., acoustic guitar). Also, dealing with Front End Audio has been a pleasure, and I recently purchased some additional mics for drums.

Roswell Mini K47 matched pair
Apr 15th 2019I have the Mini K47s as overheads on a set of Legend Drums. the kit sounds balanced with each drum well articulated. The clincher is the sound of the Zildjian cymbals which are represented in great detail, they sound awesome. I am greatly satisfied with my purchase of these high quality mics at a very reasonable cost. Also, I have enjoyed the opportunity to have purchased them at Front End Audio online

Great mics
Mar 29th 2018I am just starting to use them, but these seem to be very good mics. No need to add "...for the money" . They capture an instrument or voice with very little need for EQ. There is enough lift in the right places to make the mics pleasant, either alone or in a mix, but the highs, high-mids and lows are very nicely balanced.

Simply THE Best Condenser Mic for This Price Range
Feb 11th 2018I owned the original Mini K47 and loved it so much I purchased this new matched set! Whether you are just starting out, or looking to add to your mic locker, do yourself a favor and search for reviews on this mic. You will not find a bad review, and most reviewers recommend getting at least one of these. You will be very happy you did. Kudos to Roswell for making quality mics affordable!

First purchase from Front End Audio
Jan 2nd 2018This was my first purchase through Front End Audio and I couldn't have had a better experience. They shipped my mics the same day and their rates were completely reasonable. They even called to confirm my order because I had them ship to my work. That is a level of service that I truly appreciate. Also, I really like these mics! I purchased them specifically to record overheads in my home studio where the upper frequency range can get a little squirrelly. They really sounded great. I also used them on guitar and thought they sounded great. Definitely need a pad (or back the mic up) for loud guitar amps, but it's the first condenser mic that I enjoyed using on my amp. I couldn't be more pleased so far.
