The Peluso P-12 Tube Microphone faithfully reproduces the airy sonic qualities and the robust low end of the original AKG C12 microphone.
Produced from 1953 to 1963, the "C12" was revered by engineers for its beautiful vocal quality. The P-12 employs a dual sided edge terminated 34mm gold-coated Mylar capsule and a 6072A glass triode tube. The circuitry and transformer have been designed to match the vintage "C12". Carefully selected components, thorough testing, and attention to detail all come together in this beautiful full-bodied classic tube microphone.
The Peluso P-12 Tube Microphone is paired with the Peluso MX-56 power supply. The dual sided capsule in the P-12 enables the power supply to feature 9 polar patterns in an array from omni-directional to cardioid to figure eight. The P-12 features Peluso's heavy-duty 8-pin screw on cable connector. The large diameter pins in the screw on connector give a tight and secure cable connection designed to perform for a lifetime of use.

Wow ..... this mic is a winner!!!!!
Jul 2nd 2010The reason I gave this mic a rating of 5 is because, of all the Peluso models I've owned or used, this mic by far is my favorite. Not only is it outstanding at capturing the naunces and tones of the legendary C12, but it costs only a fraction of what a vintage C12 or clone would cost. For female vocal, you CANT go wrong with this mic. We used this through a Brent Averill 1272 for our female vocalist and for soprano sax, and it was immediately our favorite. We used a pair as drum overheads through a GML - again perfect 10's accross the board. If you've been looking for the C12 sound, look no further. This is the option that will deliver without breaking the bank!
