MOGAMI GOLD STUDIO MICROPHONE CABLE (2 FOOT)
    MICHAEL BAILEY

I needed a short microphone cable to connect in my rack between my 500 unit output to the input of my FocusRite Interface, and I did not want to settle for a cheap cable, which I don't use in my studio. The Mogami cables are solid, well constructed, rugged cables from a Japanese company with a long standing reputation for high quality. When, like me, you don't want to guess if it's the cable if you need to troubleshoot, stick with a high quality cable such as these.

    Decent cable
    Johnny

Decent cable. The cable itself is different on the 2ft length. The cable used on lengths greater than 2ft is thicker. It may sound the same but it is different cable.

    Pricey, but worth it
    Dusty Kerbs

yes, these cables are expensive. but if you're serious about getting every last decibel of noise out of your signal chain, they're so worth it. these cables are DEAD quiet. the only drawback is that they're kind of stiff, making them more prone to tangling. I only use mine in the studio so it's not that big of a deal, but I could see how this might be annoying in a live setting.

    Good price/quality ratio
    Guillaume M.

I buy one of this famous cables in order to compare it with a Vovox one (high end cables made in switzerland). I must confess that there was not a big difference when I've both tested them on a genelec 7050B Sub. Good bass fidelity, no noise at all. I was not able to tell which one was the Vovox. Then, I made the same test with a Gefell UM70 running to a Daking Mic Pre. I noticed that the Mogami delivered tighter sound. Vovox sound's was as detailed, but fuller and dynamic than the Mogami. Anyway, in this price range, it's the best cable available in the world, and it's proudly Made in Japan !

    Worth every cent!
    Al

So when I first got started recording some punk down at the local guitar MusicCenter convinced me to pick one of these up. He also sold me a mic that was about the same price! Turns out that guy was right about the cable, but not the MXL mic. The quad cables offered by Mogami are the best cables I have used ever! Their shielding is fantastic, but the Quad cable dramatically reduces noise. Nowadays where everyone has electronic galore cables are prone to EM and RF interference with even the best shielding. The quad cable balances the balanced cable for even greater rejection of noise. I now only use condenser mics with these cables, because the reduction in noise is spectacular.

    Mogami Gold Studio Review
    RRT

This Cables are the best in noise rejection, is really a big difference, the specification have no match with any other Quad Mic Cable, as simple as that. Just two recommendations. Never use a cable larger than 15 feets and use a microphone with lower impedance than 200 ohms. The quad cable is hard with the higher frequencies. Considering this, there is no better mic cable in the Quad world.

These cables are great, good wire, good connectors, well made. We at "Sound Religion" like them quite a lot..

What We Think

The Mogami Gold Studio Microphone Cable solves problems by not giving electromagnetic or radio frequency interference a chance - plus it doesn't add or subtract anything from the sound. If you're after just the pure sound being transmitted from source to destination, the Mogami Gold Studio Microphone Cable is it. Of course, we're referring to it as a 'microphone cable' as it features XLR connectors (courtesy of Neutrik - their excellent XX-B connectors, sporting black housings and corrosion-free gold contacts - hence the Mogami GOLD portion of the name). But the truth is, the Mogami Gold Studio cabling's Neglex 2534 Quad cable is the ideal for transmitting any analog audio signals; microphone level or line level. Their 'true' sound makes them the ideal for using when setting up your monitor chain... and recording chain, when you really think about it. Mogami Gold Studio cabling lets all of your sound through with little fuss. And if you need an XLR to TRS cable, or TRS to TRS, we've got those, too. Just let us know. Word to the wise: Many others offer cables and say that they're 'Made With Mogami' (and some even say, "Configure your Mogami cable"). But when you dig deeper, you discover that the 'cheaper' option that they're trying to pass off as a actual Mogami Gold is some other offering altogether - more like a "Silver", and even then not the same at all! So, don't be duped into thinking that you're getting the same thing for less! Front End Audio only sells genuine MOGMAMI GOLD products - factory packaged and fully warranted by Mogami, themselves. So, don't join the ranks of the walking-brain-dead - Get the real-deal and actually receive what you want and what you need - because you'll get exactly what you pay for, in the end. And we sell only the best! Don't get burned. Come to Front End Audio for factory-built, precision-machined Mogami Gold cabling.
