The iZotope Stutter Edit 2 Effect Plug-In is a creative mixing and sound design tool that can accomplish anything from glitchy stacatto sound manipulations to esoteric phase-distortion effects and more.

Use this tool in fashioning electronic music, in creating strange soundbed tapestries for viewable media, or to process individual elements of a mix in ideosyncratic ways. With a MIDI mode that allows you to play presets with your compatible MIDI controller, Stutter Edit 2 can also be performed in a manner similar to a virtual instrument.

There is really only one word that can describe iZotope's Stutter Edit, and that is Awesome. This is a seriously groundbreaking piece of software. Whether in the studio or on the stage, Stutter opens a whole new realm of sonic creation and destruction. From stutters and chops, to noise and bit crushing, Stutter edit offers a lot of great effects to explore a new angle of production. In the studio, you can create an FX buss, add stutter, and trigger from a midi controller or step sequenced midi track (routing any and all tracks you want to redesign through the buss). Variations and parameters can be applied to different note values, allowing for multiple variations of chops, stutters, bit crushing, noise generation, and more. Now go on stage with a midi controller, and perform a whole new version of your songs with live stutters that you trigger from your controller, and get the crowd on their feet! I have greatly enjoyed using Stutter Edit in my studio. Vocals, synth, guitar, and drum tracks have been interestingly, and entertainingly redesigned on my latest project. And in most cases, it was that Stutter touch that ended up pushing the song to that next level.
