The Grace Design SB-BLRA Right Angle Blumlein Kit is a microphone positioning system that allows for precise and repeatable setting of microphone capsule spacing, angle of incidence, and rotation around the x axis. With precision scales for angle and distance engraved on its components, the Grace Design SB-BLRA Right Angle Blumlein Kit becomes easy to make perfectly measured and repeatable stereo microphone setups. As well as being able to precisely set microphones in Blumlein configurations, the Grace Design SB-BLRA Right Angle Blumlein Kit allows for exact settings through the entire continuum of angle and spacing. This allows the user to adjust the stereo microphone array and tailor the pickup field to suit virtually any recording environment.
The Grace Design SB-BLRA's whole vertical tube assembly can be rotated on a horizontal axis allowing the mics to be aimed up or down relative to the horizontal plane. This can be very useful when micing and ensemble from above on a tall stand.

Fabulous for big-ribbon-Blumlein!
Jul 4th 2017If you have a pair of big ribbon mics like the Ocean Way Audio RM1-B or any of the AEA R44 variants, this is a terrific solution for Blumlein or M/S. The SB-BLRA allows for precise positioning. You can tell holding them in your hand that these Grace Design components are both really rugged and very finely crafted. Things stay put once you have them adjusted and lock them in.
