The Grace Design SB-BL Blumlein Kit is designed to hold standard large diaphragm microphones in a vertical Blumlien configuration. It allows for holding two microphones on the same vertical axis and at a precise 90 degree angle of incidence.
The Grace Design SB-BL Blumlein Kit is a microphone positioning system that allows for precise and repeatable setting of microphone capsule spacing, angle of incidence, and rotation around the x axis. With precision scales for angle and distance engraved on its components, the Grace Design SB-BL Blumlein Kit becomes easy to make perfectly measured and repeatable stereo microphone setups. As well as being able to precisely set microphones in standard stereo configurations (i.e. XY, ORTF, NOS, and AB 50cm), the Grace Design SB-BL Blumlein Kit allows for exact settings through the entire continuum of angle and spacing. This allows the user to adjust the stereo microphone array and tailor the pickup field to suit virtually any recording environment.
The Grace Design SB-BL's whole vertical tube assembly can be rotated on a horizontal axis allowing the mics to be aimed up or down relative to the horizontal plane. This can be very useful when micing and ensemble from above on a tall stand.
