What We Think

avatar

The Electric & Company EC3 Preamp, based on the Ampex 351 preamps., has the sound you want, when you think of a tube preamp. It is smooth, full, and dimensional. Uniquely, when you flip the phase on the unit, it becomes warmer, so the phase flip works more like a tone switch (which is a very pleasing sound). You do have an output attenuation, so you can drive more input to get some grit and distortion.
