New Active Electronics
We've hardened the internal electronics to draw less phantom power, and we've built in additional protection features to safeguard against accidental hot swapping. We all know that you shouldn't plug in a condenser microphone with the power engaged but we also know that's an inevitably in the field sometimes. These new stacked changes make the DK7 Gen 2 more robust, more compatible, and more user-friendly.
New Rim Mounting System
Everything about the DK7 Gen 2 is designed for speed — and that includes the speed of set up and tear down. Feb 18th 2021You can't go wrong with Earthworks mics, and they stand behind their products with great customer service. The DK7 kit took my drum recordings to the next level. The sound is clean, transparent, and accurate. I barely have to use EQ on my mixes. Couldn't be happier!

The Best Drum Mics I Have Ever Used!!!
Jul 11th 2020I have used a few different brands of drum mics over the years, but one thing I didn't like was that most of the mics I used added "color" to drums. I tune my drums to very tight tolerances for tone and pitch, and adding color from the mic made this hard. Earthworks mics capture my drums with amazing clarity, so now what I am recording sounds exactly the way my tuned set sounds. I am very pleased with this set, and have already invested on additional Earthworks mics for my kit. Highly recommended!
