The Blue Microphones Mouse Microphone is a powerful handcrafted microphone that delivers larger-than-life results for bottom-heavy instruments and voices. It features a unique rotating capsule design that adds versatility and allows you to discover all the tonal possibilities of your vocals or instruments. Get ready for a truly unique sonic experience.
Mouse excels at capturing the booming lows of bass guitar cabs, kick drums, lower-register vocals, and anything else that could split the world in two. It even accentuates the lows of voices and instruments that could use a lift in the bass department. Mouse’s smooth mid-range response and crystalline high end delivers robust, full-range tone that’s perfect for guitars, drums and broadcasting. And with minimal proximity effect, you’ll never have to worry about your frequencies being muddy or out of proportion.
HEAD-TURNING FLEXIBILITY
Capture new tonal character from your voice and instruments with Mouse’s rotating head. This unique design lets you place the mic capsule at an angle that best suits your tone and style. You can even pinpoint your instrument’s recording sweet spot by sweeping the capsule between positions on your amp, kick drum or bass cab. Transform your tone with a turn.
WHAT MAKES A MOUSE
It all starts with a hand-built large diaphragm capsule that’s sputtered with a mixture of pure gold and aluminum, and tensioned to our hand-built brass backplates. The Class A discrete circuitry and onboard transformer deliver premium quality and an inimitable sonic characteristic. Mouse also features hand-selected electronics for a pure and transparent signal path. It even comes with an integrated suspension shockmount to eliminate mic rumble, and a cherry wood storage box for safekeeping.
CORNERSTONE DRUM MIC
The Mouse’s extended frequency response and powerful bottom end make it an ideal mic for recording kick drums, floor toms, and hand drums. And with its innovative rotating head, you can position the capsule at any angle to dial in the perfect tone. Add in a pair of Hummingbird mics to capture drum overheads, and you have a mic kit that delivers full, lustrous recordings. It’s an unlikely zoological pairing, but sounds great in the studio!

Blue Mouse
Apr 30th 2011I just cant help but smile every time i see this mic, neither can anyone else. Just the shape alone breaks the ice for a vocalist the first time they meet or anyone else who catches a glimpse. The actual sound of this mic doesn't discriminate between differing vocals, rather it makes any vocal sound perfectly acceptable for any recording or broadcast application. Not sibilant, handles EQ very well, and gives some nice pleasant lows on a voice. What really made me like the mouse was how it sounds on acoustic instruments cellos, guitars, violins, etc. No noticeable sharp or metallic highs, present mid's that don't offend, and the case/wood timbre is replicated without being "boxy"

My favorite mic!
Jun 25th 2010I have a collection of 10-15 mid-ranged mics, and I have to say that out of all of them, this is my favorite mic, especially for vocals. It is also my primary bass cab mic, an application in which it really excels. It can sometimes work on acoustic guitars. All of the hype on the mic is true...as many other people have said, it really does have a magical way of bringing things directly to the front of the mix.
