Stedman Proscreen XL
A most prominent design would be the Stedman Proscreen XL Metal Pop Filter.
With a large 6-inch diameter metal screen surrounded by an ultra-fine rubber, its design is both elegant and appealing and provides excellent prevention of popping “P’s” and “B’s”, while preserving delicate high frequencies.
What’s cool:
The patented Proscreen filter Material redirects airflow downward and away from the microphone capsule, instead of simply diffusing bursts, thanks to large metal openings in the screen. This sets it apart from traditional fabric pop filters. Both the screen and the high strength metal alloy clamp are finished with a durable powder coating that will last a lifetime of studio sessions. This also makes it easy to wash the screen, when necessary. The 13-inch gooseneck is covered with a heavy-duty vinyl shrink material, keeping it both protected and reducing noise in case adjustments need to be made. Stedman Proscreens come equipped with a high-quality clamping knob with a soft Nylon tip, protecting valuable studio equipment from unsightly scratches.
With a 4.6 inch diameter metal screen, the Stedman PS101 is a bit smaller than the Proscreen XL, but is equally effective in retaining high frequency information and eliminates bursts due to “P”s and “B’s”.
Proving to be an excellent asset when tracking, this filter comes in handy when a larger screen isn’t needed. Again, both the screen and the high strength metal alloy clamp are finished with a durable powder coating, making it easy to wash, when necessary. "While having a few minutes in between sessions at the Boom Room Recording Studio in Columbia, SC, I positioned the filter approx. 3-4 inches away from a Neumann U87 and positioned myself about 4 inches away from the screen. I (repeatedly and aggressively) shouted Peter Parker into the mic. I also repeated the name of the studio a couple of times. What I found, was the metal screen effectively redirected the airflow downward and preserved the sibilance and managed plosives quite well. The Proscreen XL proves to be very sturdy with no risk of tearing. Especially in commercial studios, it makes sense to have one of these filters even for hygienic reasons, since they’re super easy to wipe down."

This kit includes two machined aluminum handles that will hold the included ¼” and 1/10” Microfelt tips. The PK-2 has 25 1/4” Microfelt tips for cleaning female 1/4” jacks as well as male XLR pins, and 50 1/10” tips for cleaning female XLR connectors.
Also included are 15 - 1 3/4" cotton cleaning pads for cleaning 1/4" plugs and two 2 ml tubes of DeoxIT cleaning fluid. The components included are all enclosed in a sturdy hinged reusable poly case. Stedman SK-1 Studio Kit
The SK-1 connector cleaning kit comes in handy when making sure your equipment is neat, tidy and functioning every now and then.
This kit includes one machined aluminum handle that will hold both the ¼” and 1/10” Microfelt tips. The SK-1 includes five ¼” Microfelt tips for cleaning female ¼” connectors as well as male XLR pins, and ten 1/10” tips for cleaning female XLR connectors. Also included are 1 3/4" cotton cleaning pads for cleaning 1/4" plugs and a 2 ml tube of DeoxIT cleaning fluid.
The GP-1 is the compact cleaning solution for maintaining both ¼” male and female connectors.
A small, sturdy, metal-hinged case holds one plastic handle, five ¼” Microfelt tips, three ¾” cotton cleaning pads as well as a 2ml tube of DeoxIt cleaning fluid.
