Introducing the New United Studio Technologies Vintage Direct Box! United Studio Technologies has just announced the new United Studio Technologies Vintage Direct Box. The Vintage Direct is a direct box for recording guitars and bass that features a massive custom US-made transformer. Its circuit design is based around eliminating any of the potential tone-robbing components in the signal path that you’re likely to find in a lesser DI Box. You get all the gain you could ever want, with no need for a boost pedal or preamp - neatly tucked into a sturdy, tour-worthy chassis. The front of the Vintage Direct features a -12 dB attenuation switch, a phase switch, a ground lift switch, and an output gain knob.

For the custom transformer, United Studio Technologies used a high-nickel lamination and a winding ratio very close to the original inspiration. The result is United’s US made “5078” large-core transformer, one of the largest transformers you’ll ever find in any DI. It delivers a pristine low-noise signal, wide frequency response, extraordinary headroom, and outstanding noise rejection.
