Avantone CV-12, CV-12 BLA
Dec 24th 2021Great mic for an unbelievable price. We have an original C12, so direct comparison was easy. This is slightly "thinner" overall, but an absolutely superior mic. However, the BLA modded version of this mic is even better! We tested the BLA version against the C12, M149, C800G, and original U67, using a Millennia HV3 and Prism conversion. The results were crazy good. The BLA is DEAD quiet, round and smooth. Definitely belongs in the locker with mics costing 20 times the price. The BLA version gets 5 stars.

Jun 23rd 2014Once everything was shipped it arrived very quickly and in excellent condition. I was initially a little bummed that the bonus product (Avantone pop filter) that was bundled with the mic was out of stock, but then they offered to bundle it with one that is at least as good (was more expensive anyway) and it works great! Great Mic...
Oct 2nd 2010I recently purchased the Avantone CV-12 from Front End. The shipping was quicker than expected and the microphone is beautiful. It sounds wonderful. I haven't used it extensively yet, but I am pleased with the sound I have achieved. One complaint, the shockmount. It comes undone almost everytime I put it back in the box. Very annoying, very large PITA. That aside, I love the mic and the versatility it offers.

Best mic!
Aug 30th 2010I was going to get the AKG 3000 mic for home recording but it's been out of stock for ages. This mic was recommended to me by a Front End Studio staff! I decided to go for it without testing the sound etc - it's honestly the best mic I've used. MUCH better for my voice than the AKG 3000 I was using from a friend. I'm very happy with this purchase!
