One of the best values for 500 series
Jul 29th 2024While it's large and takes up 3 slots, the 54F50 is one of the best sounding and well built units I've used for the 500 series. Just running a source through it adds a ton of weight. I particularly like it on bass and snare drum, but can really help tame a vocal, especially one that's overly bright. AML is a great company and provided me with details on how to change the compressor recovery times to 100ms, 200ms, and 400ms, which was a popular modification for the original 2254's. Highly recommended!
